    How we use your information.

    Who we are

Who Are These Investors is published by TorontoStarts, an RC Events & Services brand, Toronto, Ontario. Contact Craig@TorontoStarts.com about your information, a correction or a deletion request. Craig is responsible for privacy questions about the show.

    Interview applications

We collect the name, email, organization, role, investment focus, notable investments, LinkedIn, website and headshot link you submit so the TorontoStarts team can review your application and contact you. We also collect your reason for applying and a record of your interview consent, including the version you agreed to and when. Applications are stored in our Supabase database and are not published. Applying does not add you to the newsletter.

    Email updates

If you subscribe through the newsletter form, you ask to join the TorontoStarts newsletter. This site's form currently records your name, email and signup source in Supabase. It does not currently send email or connect directly to an email delivery platform. When newsletter emails are sent, you can unsubscribe from any email; you can also ask Craig to remove your signup.

    Guest information doc

Booked guests get their own Google Doc to fill in with their bio, headshot link, logo link, fund details and social links. It is stored in our Google Drive and our guest tracker in Google Sheets, and seen only by the TorontoStarts team. The document itself is private; information you provide for publication may be used as described below.

    Recording and publishing

Interviews are recorded with StreamYard. We edit recordings, including with AI editing tools, and publish them on this site, YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts and other podcast apps, plus short clips on social media. Your name, voice, image and the information you share for publication may appear with the episode. Public recordings and clips may be copied or shared by others.

    TorontoStarts directories

Information a guest shares may be used for their fund's or their own entry in TorontoStarts directory listings. Guests can ask for corrections at any time.

    Finding guests

We research possible guests using public information such as fund websites, news and public social profiles, and contact them by email about being on the show. You can ask us not to contact you again.

    Listening and outside services

Booking happens on TidyCal. The current episode MP3s are hosted directly on this website through Lovable hosting. We do not route these audio downloads through OP3 or a separate podcast download measurement service. Hosting providers may process routine connection information, such as an IP address, to deliver and protect the site and audio.

Links to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube and other sites go to services with their own privacy practices. Where an episode has a YouTube video, it loads only after you choose to load it, using YouTube's privacy-enhanced embed. Playing it connects your browser to YouTube.

    Protecting your information

We limit access to private guest and application information to the TorontoStarts team and service providers needed to run the show. We use access controls and take reasonable steps to protect it. Services such as Supabase, Google, TidyCal and StreamYard may process information outside Canada, where local laws may apply. We do not sell your personal information.

    How long we keep information

We keep private information only as long as needed to review applications, organize and run the show, maintain consent records and meet legal obligations. When it is no longer needed, we delete it or remove identifying details. Published episodes stay online unless removed at our discretion or on request. Copies held by podcast apps, search engines or other people may remain after we remove our copy.

    Your choices and requests

You can ask to access your personal information, correct it, withdraw consent for future uses or request deletion by contacting Craig@TorontoStarts.com. We may need to confirm your identity. We will explain any limits, including information we must retain or material already published, and normally respond within 30 days. If we cannot resolve a concern, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
